      Objective To investigate the neurotic personality, interpersonal sensitivity and social support of adult male prisoners and the relationship among them, and to provide references for targeted mental health education. Methods From May to October 2017, a total of 244 adult male prisoners from two prisons in Shandong province were randomly selected. The Symptom Checklist 90 ( SCL - 90 ) , Eysenck Personality Questionnaire ( EPQ ) and Social Support Rating Scale ( SSRS) were adpoted as assessments. Results ①Compared with the national norm, neuroticism of EPQ, interpersonal sensitivity of SCL - 90 and SSRS scores of the study group were significantly different ( t = - 7. 86 ~ 16. 54, P < 0. 01 ) . ②Test the regression coefficients in turn showed that the influence of interpersonal sensitivity on social support was achieved through neuroticism. Neuroticism had a significant mediating effect between interpersonal sensitivity and social support [ before adding mediation variables ( β = - 0. 164, P = 0. 034) , after adding mediation variables ( β = - 0. 237, P = 0. 133 ) ] . Conclusion Neurotic personality characteristic of adult male prisoners is typical. Neuroticism plays an intermediary role in social support and interpersonal sensitivity.
