Objective To explore the relationship between negative emotions, loneliness and social support of female nursing students in secondary vocational school, in order to provide references for the formulation of targeted psychological intervention and mental health education for female nursing students in secondary vocational school. Methods From June to October in 2018, 1 300 female nursing students from Southwest Medical University were selected by the random sampling method. They were assessed by Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales - 21 item ( DASS - 21 ) , University of California at Los Angeles - Loneliness Scale( UCLA - LS) and Social Support Rating Scale ( SSRS) . Then the relationship between negative emotions, loneliness and social support was determined. Results The total score of DASS - 21 was ( 22. 39 ± 8. 26) , and the scores of depression, anxiety and stress were ( 7. 56 ± 3. 32) , ( 8. 82 ± 3. 49) and ( 7. 00 ± 3. 58) , respectively. The scores of UCLA - LS and SSRS were ( 46. 25 ± 8. 12)and ( 33. 16 ± 5. 82) . DASS - 21 score was positively correlated with UCLA - LS score ( r = 0. 431 , P < 0. 01 ) , and SSRS total score was negatively correlated with DASS - 21 and UCLA - LS score ( r = - 0. 193, - 0. 345, P < 0. 01 ) . Conclusion Certain correlation exists among the negative emotions, social support and loneliness of female nursing students in secondary vocational school.
