| Objective To investigate the sexual abuse situation and sexual safety knowledge of left - behind girls in Mianyang city, and to explore the efficacy of group psychological counseling, which was to provide references for sexual safety education.Methods A total of 113 left - behind girls in Fucheng district and Pingwu county of Mianyang city were selected by two - stage sampling method. The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire ( CTQ - SF) and the Knowledge and Skills Questionnaire for Preventing Sexual Violation were used to investigate the awareness of sexual safety knowledge of left - behind girls before and after group psychological counseling. Results The incidence of sexual abuse among left - behind girls in Mianyang city was 15. 04% , and the awareness rate of sexual safety knowledge was 59. 8% . After group psychological counseling, the score of sexual safety knowledge was significantly increased compared to before [ ( 10. 17 ± 3 . 17) vs. ( 12. 73 ± 3 . 12) , t = - 8. 904, P < 0. 01 ] . Conclusion The incidence of sexual abuse of left - behind girls is high in both urban and rural areas of Mianyang city. Group psychological counseling may help improve the awareness rate of sexual safety knowledge of left - behind girls. |
